About San Clemente, CA
San Clemente is home to gorgeous beaches, breathtaking sunsets, and picturesque coastlines. It’s the ideal place for families, couples, and anyone looking to spend some time in the sun.
One of San Clemente’s most famous attractions is the San Clemente Pier. Originally built in 1928 and rebuilt in 1985, the pier is 1,296 ft. long and is a popular destination for surfers, beachgoers, and those seeking a romantic stroll. Open from 4 a.m. to 12 a.m., the pier is only a short 15-minute walk from the delicious restaurants on Del Mar Street.
If you’re walking along the pier and start feeling peckish, don’t forget to check out Fisherman’s Restaurant and Bar, conveniently located at the pier’s entrance!

As San Clemente founder Ole Hanson once said in the 1920s, “People love the beautiful things”—and it’s true. San Clemente, the Spanish Village by the Sea, is truly a gem along the California coastline.
Originally designed as a master planned community in the Spanish colonial style, San Clemente attracted its first residents with its sterling reputation as prime real estate. Per Hanson’s wish, every home built followed strict Spanish colonial style guidelines, and soon enough a city full of red tile roofs and whitewashed walls emerged on the coastline.
This dedication to the Spanish colonial style is still prevalent today, as residents and city officials seek to restore and maintain the beauty of their home. One shining example of this is the recent restoration of Casa Romantica, the place Ole Hanson called home for several years. After decades of neglect, local activists have pushed for restoration and striven to ensure that the beautiful Casa Romantica—now the Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens—remains a memento of San Clemente’s past for years to come.
